Description of Tasting: |
It's been years and took a big, bold, bid at the Willamette Valley Auction a few months ago, but it was worth it. Because Ken Wright, the man Wine Spectator called "A Master of Pinot Noir in Oregon" and who introduced the concept of single-vineyard bottlings to the Willamette Valley, will be here at Chain Bridge Cellars from 3-5pm on Sunday August 26. And you're invited to come and meet an American winemaking legend and taste some of his exceptional wines. There's no cost but PLEASE sign-up online if you'd like to come. We expect very strong interest and attendance at this rare visit by Ken to the DC area and want to be sure to be prepared to accommodate everyone who'd like to come. Other than meeting Ken, the highlight of the afternoon will be the world debut of a tiny, five-case, production bottling of Ken’s best vines in the famed Freedom Hill Vineyard: the 2016 Ken Wright Pinot Noir Freedom Hill Heritage Block Clone 777. We'll pour that plus: Pinot Noir Bonnie Jean Vyd 2014 (Wine Enthusiast 94 points) There's no charge for this special tasting event, but PLEASE register online so we can be ready to take care of everyone who'd like to come. And, if you have any questions at all, please call us at 703.356.6500. Thanks! |
