Keeping the springtime train rolling, Saturday’s tasting features a Rhone Ranger rosé, one of Jacquelyn’s favorite “go-to” reds that works for Easter, too, and a pair of exciting wines from the small production Ruggeri Corsini in Barolo. Including a cru Barolo that will knock your socks off. Join us from noon-4pm to taste: Margerum Santa Barbara County Riviera Rose 2023 – Doug Margerum says they call the Central Coast “California’s Riviera,” and one taste of this very Provençal-style rosé makes the moniker make sense! Josef Bauer Gruner Veltliner Wagram 2023 - Anton Bauer Gruner Gmirk is gone, but Anton's cousin Joe's Wagram GV is just as delicious and a great value, too! Crisp, fresh and great with asparagus. Famille Duveau Saumur-Champigny 2019 – Jacquelyn says she and her husband have cases of this wine in the cellar of their home back in Portugal, and tasting it will make you understand why. A delicious all-season red. Podere Ruggeri Corsini Langhe Rosso Matot 2022 – A fine, young, Barolo turns out a great value, chillable, sipper from Dolcetto plus splashes of Nebbiolo, Barbera, Albarossa and Pinot Nero. Plump and delicious. Podere Ruggeri Corsini Barolo Bussia 2020 – And they do a pretty fine Cru Barolo as well! This is already delicious to drink with robust food – like lamb! All of these wines are a delight to taste on their own and better still with food. Like the savory mountain cheese Agour Ossau Iraty we’ll be sampling with the wines. Come on by and give them all a try! |
