SOLD OUT! Tasting the work of Patricia Green Cellars winemaker/owner Jim Anderson is always a treat. But to enjoy his delicious, site-specific, wines with a great meal – well, that’s an opportunity not to be missed. So join Jim and CBC for dinner on Thursday, March 12 at McLean’s Neutral Ground. Chef David Gaus has created an exciting meal to match Jim’s wines. And he $155/pp cost is a bargain and includes tax, tip and reservation costs! Eric Guido, writing in Vinous, last year did a great job of describing Jim’s work. “The vast portfolio of Patricia Green Cellars is enough to keep a terroir fanatic busy for a long time. Jim Anderson sources fruit throughout the valley from some of its best vineyards. Winemaking differs from location to location to accentuate the character of each site, varying new oak usage and stem inclusion on a case-by-case basis. In the end, the wines express the house style beautifully, pure and lifted yet complex, while remaining faithful to terroir. They are also some of the best values in the valley for first-class Pinot Noir.” The “first-class Pinot Noir” will flow at Neutral Ground on March 12! We’ll gather from 6:30-7pm for a glass of sparkling wine and a chance to meet and chat with Jim. Then at 7 we sit down to a marvelous feast: Scallop Tiradito, passion fruit, lime, honey, red onion, chilies, sweet potato, cancha, cilantro Wild Mushroom Agnolotti, mushroom duxelles, shroomy broth with herbs Duck 2.0, roasted breast, leg confit, charred carrot puree, burnt orange glaze Pan Seared Flat Iron Steak, cannellini beans, bitter greens, garlic confit butter Dessert & coffee The Washington Post called Neutral Ground the “most captivating new restaurant in Northern Virginia” less than two years ago, and Chef David and his team just keep going from strength to strength. They are located at 6641 Old Dominion Drive McLean, VA 22101, so practically just around the corner from the shop and there’s plenty of free parking in the lot behind the restaurant. This is going to be a delightful and delicious meal and a wonderful chance to catch up with Jim and dive into the Patricia Green story. Don’t miss it! |
