The 2023 Champagne Classes!

It’s not yet clear what kind of year 2023 has been, but we know one thing for sure: the best way to end the year is with bubbles, and lots of them!  So plan now to join us for one of our four year-end classes on the glories of the best bubbles of all: Champagne!

You can see the list of available dates and reserve your seats now via the links above.  If you’ve joined us for one of our annual shows of brilliant bubbles, you already know that this is the most fun, festive and delicious classes of the year.  And if you haven’t attended before, then have we ever got a treat for you!  We’ll be featuring eight deliciously distinctive Champagnes ranging from our favorite values to an astonishingly good 2008 vintage wine (with, admittedly, a not terribly distinguished-sounding name).

With our tour of festive fizz you’ll enjoy a range of Champagne-friendly snacks as you learn about Champagne history, production, blending, aging, drinking and more. We’ll talk about why so many of the Champagne’s we’re sipping are labeled “Extra Brut,” how white Champagne is made from red grapes, and what in the world “disgorgement” and “sur latte” mean. And why Champagne-lovers natter on about “RM/grower” Champagne so much.

But mainly we’ll have fun getting to know eight terrific bottles of Champagne.  The full line-up is necessarily in flux and may be different from class to class.  But in all you’ll learn about wines with different grape blends, winemaking approaches and aging times.  Although almost all will contain a big slug of Pinot Meunier.  Because Doug likes it!
