When your grandparents are Luciana Vietti and Alfredo Currado, Barolo legends, and your dad is their son-in-law Mario Cordero, who ran Vietti from the late 1980s-2016, you’ve got some heritage to live up to. Mario’s three children, Francesco, Lorenzo, and Caterina Cordero, were up to the challenge. They created a top winery in Lombardy, next door to Piemonte. And now they make great Barolo, too.

The ”San Giorgio” name refers to the legend of Saint George and the Dragon – thus the large lizard and small knight on the Cordero San Giorgio labels. Put dragons and knights together and you get fireworks. Which is pretty much what these delicious wines deliver, too!
